Every seat contested

Kelly Childers won’t seek re-election this year for his at-large seat on the Lincoln County Board of Education, but three people have stepped up to fight for the seat including Denver resident Todd Wulfhorst.
Board members Tommy Houser of Vale, George Dellinger of Iron Station and Chairman Ed Hatley of Lincolnton filed to run again.
Seats for districts 1, 3 and 4 and an at-large seat are up for grabs this fall.
This is the first election since school board members realigned districts last year. Candidates must choose to run for the at-large seat or the seat that represents their district, but voters in the November election will each vote on all four seats.
