DENVER – Lincoln County deputies arrested a Winston-Salem man after a high-speed motorcycle chase through Denver on Sunday night.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Sgt. Justin Frye was on routine patrol on N.C. 16 S. Sunday around 8 p.m. when he saw Sterling Henry Fiske, 22, on a motorcycle traveling north at 66 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone.

Frye activated his lights and chased the motorcycle north on N.C. 16 and right onto Unity Church Road.

When Fiske, of 1904 Falcon Wood Court B, Winston-Salem, reached the end of Unity Church Road, he turned around, traveling back toward the patrol car.

Frye applied his brakes and the vehicle skidded to a stop, striking the motorcycle in the side and knocking it over. The operator of the motorcycle had already moved away from the bike when the crash occurred and was not injured.

Deputies charged Fiske with felony speeding to elude arrest and one misdemeanor count each of no operator’s license, speeding, careless and reckless driving, and overtaking a vehicle. He was taken to Harven A. Crouse Detention Center and later released on a $6,000 secured bond.
