George Lester Darrow

DENVER – George Lester Darrow, 58, of Denver, died June 7, 2012.

Born Oct. 19, 1953, in Birmingham, Ala., Dr. Darrow was a son of the late Albert Henry Darrow.

Survivors include his three daughters, Hannah McAlister Darrow, Hilary Burk Darrow and Sarah Frances Darrow, all of Charlotte; his mother Carolyn Dykes Darrow of Statesville; three bothers, John David Darrow, James Daniel Darrow and Peter Nathaniel Darrow, all of North Hampton, New Brunswick Canada; and sister Saralee Trimble of San Antonio, Texas.

Services were held Wednesday, June 13, at Vesuvius Vineyards, 6173 Vesuvius Furnace Road in Iron Station.

Warlick Funeral Home, Lincolnton, was in charge.

Cheryl Marie Keeler

DENVER – Cheryl Marie Keeler, 67, of Denver, died June 7, 2012, at her home.

Born Dec. 8, 1944, in Ithaca, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Orlo and Marjorie Coburn Mente.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her siste, Carol Hults and brother James Mente.

Survivors include her husband Michael L. Keeler; children Christine Marie Leary, Kathleen Marie Norton, Stephen Eric Jenkins and Scott Andrew Jenkins; stepchildren Tracey Keeler, Christopher Keeler and Marc Keeler, 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Bette Tuttle and brothers Mike Mente and William Mente.

A private visitation was held at the Good Samaritan Funeral Home in Denver.

Burial will take place in New York.

Waymon Hooper

LINCOLNTON – Waymon Hooper, 91, of Lincolnton, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home.

Born in Buckhead, Ga., he was a son of the late George and Effie Hooper.

He was a retired farmer.

Including his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Rachel and daughter Jill Hooper.

Survivors include his six daughters, Crystal Lovingood and husband Bill of Lincolnton, Linda Dugan and husband Mike, Debbie Beam and husband Bill, Pam Norris and husband Joey, Kim Morrow and husband Lynn and Cynthia Hooper Patterson; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Propst of Sherrills Ford and Nervieleen Jackson of Marietta, Ga.

The family will have a private graveside service with the Rev. W. Ray Pennell officiating.

Warlick Funeral Home, Lincolnton, is serving the family.
