Marion Bussino

DENVER – Marion Lucille Stetson Bussino, 91, of 7311 Executive Circle in Denver, died May 24, 2012.

Born Nov. 29, 1920, in Washington County, Vt., Mrs. Bussino was a daughter to the late Homer J. and Hilda Johnson Stetson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Allen Clark and Vernon R. Bussino.  She worked as a supervisor for the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles.

Survivors include her son, Darrell Bussino, of Wickenburg, Ariz.; daughter, Maral Clark Fowler of Vale; seven grandchildren, Steven Cliche, Darrell Bussino Jr., Allen Cliche, Yvonne Bussino, Keith Cliche, Angela Cliche, and Annette Fowler; and six great-grandchildren, Steven M. Cliche, Tyler Cliche, Allison Lillie, Marcus Lillie, Morgan Cliche and Jack Kelly.

Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Middlesex Center Cemetery in Middlesex, Vt.

Warlick Funeral Home, Lincolnton, is serving the family.

Robert Link Sr.

LINCOLNTON – Robert Larry Link Sr., 74, of 2584 Brookwood Road in Lincolnton, died May 25, 2012.

Born Nov. 29, 1937 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Andrew and Martha Maie Forbis Link. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Link and sister, Cecelia Link Parker Myers.

He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1962 and retired from Carolina Mills in 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Hazeline Houser Link; one daughter, Renee Link, of Stanley; two sons, Robby Link and wife, Helen Link, of Denver, and Ricky Link, of Lincolnton; and one granddaughter, Jessica Link.

Services were held Saturday, May 26, at Pisgah United Methodist Church with the Revs. Judy Eurey and Charles Stevens officiating.

A burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.

Warlick Funeral Home, Lincolnton, was in charge.

Peggy Hughes

HIGH SHOALS – Peggy Ann Cloninger Hughes, 78, of 137 Church Street in High Shoals, died May 25, 2012.

Born Aug. 2, 1933, in Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Non Edward and Julia Harwell Cloninger.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Moses Clifford Hughes Jr.

Her sister, Martha C. Murphy, lives in Stanley.

Including her sister, she is survived by a son, Joseph Charles Hughes, of High Shoals; one daughter, Cheryl H. Dover and husband, Steve, of Dallas; sister, Betty C. Jones of Lincolnton; and one granddaughter, Leah Elizabeth Dover.

Services were held Sunday, May 27, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dickie Whitener officiating. Burial followed in High Shoals Memorial Gardens.
