Dear Editor:

As voters make their choices as to who will represent us in the N.C. House, one person stands out as the clear choice to act in our interest: Jason Saine.

I have known Jason for more than seven years from church and through our work together at Denver Masonic Lodge.

He is a tireless worker for the betterment of our community and has been a behind-the-scenes, get-it-done worker and organizer for a number of causes.

I know Jason to be very passionate about helping others, and he has been a key volunteer in various fundraisers for children, the less fortunate, and wherever there is a need. He volunteers with cheerful persistence.

As a Republican, voters can find no one in the race for N.C. House District 97 who is more fiscally conservative than Jason Saine.

I know that he will look out for our best interests and has already done so when he voted to cap the state gas tax.

He also very proudly voted to support the Marriage Amendment on his first day in office.

As a sportsman and believer in the Second Amendment, his endorsements recently by the NRA and Grass Roots North Carolina speak volumes about him as a protector of freedom. It also speaks to the inability of his opponent to understand issues outside of a very narrow scope.

As a father, I know he shares the same concerns I have for the future of our children. He does not want to burden future generations with paying for the mistakes and excesses of today. Voters should also know that he is the only candidate in the race that has signed the Freedom Works “No Tax Increase” pledge.

Lastly, voters must choose who can be the most effective in Raleigh and with his contacts here at home and across the state, he has and will continue to serve Lincoln County well.

His commitment to the principles of less government, lower taxes and more freedom are as strong today as the first day he and I discussed politics. We can count on Jason not to waffle, not to pass unnecessary tax increases like his opponent has done in the past, and to always be there when someone calls on him with an issue of concern.

Voters should support Jason Saine for N.C. House!
