Desperate candidates say desperate things, and I have noticed that supporters of Mr. Klein must be exactly that.
The fact of the matter is they are trying to paint over a career of public service that has consisted of tax increase after tax increase, fee increases and a general ignoring the voters’ will.
Klein cost taxpayers an extra $38,000 when he called for a runoff in 2010. That money could have been better used to fund an extra sheriff’s deputy or teacher.
Contrast that with Jason Saine, the clear conservative choice for N.C. House.
I have known Jason in many capacities but want to speak specifically to his work with area Boy Scouts as a merit badge counselor.
For years he has given many Saturdays volunteering with Boy Scouts while teaching citizenship in the community, citizenship in the nation and citizenship in the world.
My son, Scott, has taken two of his merit badge classes and my husband and I have been most impressed with the time and energy Jason puts in to educating young minds about the importance of being a good citizen in the community and leadership.
Having been a merit badge counselor for years before he ever served in office, I know his dedication and commitment is real and not something done for political gain.
At his last class, more than 40 Boy Scouts participated from troops across Lincoln County because of the reputation he has with working with our youth.
As a taxpayer, I know he will fight for us, no matter our income level or social prominence, as he treats all with respect and dignity.
He is a committed family man who understands the challenges we face in this economy as many of us have struggled to find good paying jobs and to house and feed our families.
Lincoln County should support Jason Saine because he certainly supports our community.
Please vote for Jason Saine for N.C. House on May 8th!
