Lincoln Charter softball wins big

Lincoln Charter’s softball team continued its hot streak on April 16, defeating West Lincoln 14-3.
Josie Weber struck out 10 batters in five innings and allowed three runs on six hits to take the win for Lincoln Charter.
Sarah Kenley’s three-run home run led the Eagles’ offensive onslaught.
Kenley, Victoria Morgan (two doubles) and Emily Kenley (four RBIs) went 3-for-4 in the victory.
The Eagles will face Gaston Christian on April 26 at 4:30 p.m.

North Lincoln boys tennis falls to Wolves
North Lincoln High’s boys tennis team dropped a 7-1 decision to Southern Piedmont 1A/2A conference foe Lincolnton High on April 17.
The Knights’ No. 4 singles player, Desmond Jones, registered North Lincoln’s lone win when he defeated the Wolves’ Alejandro Valverde 6-4, 6-0.
Lincolnton’s Matthew Ledford (6-1, 6-0 over Evan Peaire), Ethan Miller (6-0, 6-2 over Brian Lehman), Alan Silva (6-1, 7-5 over Brendan D’Amato), D.J. Poston (6-2, 6-3 over Chris Garcia) and Andrew Cromer (6-4, 7-6 over Jonathan Ivaniuc) took singles.
North Lincoln’s defeat dropped the Knights to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in SPC games.
The Knights will host the SPC boys tennis tournament on April 24 and 25. Play begins at 3 p.m.

basketball camps
SouthLake Christian Academy is hosting a pair of basketball camps over the summer.
The first session runs from June 25 to June 29, and the second starts July 23 and concludes July 27. Camps for players ages 6 to 9 run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and camps for players aged 10 to 15 run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The fee for either session is $125.
