MAIDEN – Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Maiden woman Sunday, April 8, on drug and child abuse charges.

Deputies went looking for 26-year-old Shannon Marie Matthies, of 4312 Getaway Lane, Maiden, after receiving a tip from a citizen.

When they arrived at a residence in the 2500 block of Southland Trail, officers found Matthies fleeing into a mobile home. They found her hiding in the bathroom and took her into custody.

Deputies charged Matthies with five felony counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, selling and deliver cocaine, five felony counts of sell and delivering cocaine, two felony counts of conspiracy, two felony counts of trafficking in opium, one felony count of selling and delivering of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, six felony counts of maintaining a vehicle or residence and six counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Matthies was taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center on a $114,500 secured bond.
