DENVER – Ken Baker, owner of SweetVine Winery, said he’s hoping the business’s expansion will bring a more cozy atmosphere for enjoying wine and beer in Denver.
The new site, just a few doors down from the winery’s current location, will increase the shop from 1,500 to 3,500 square feet. Baker said he wants to have the new space ready by late summer.
“We turn down a bunch of really good parties and events, like wedding receptions, because we don’t have the space,” Baker said.
The new space will seat about 60 people, doubling the current capacity and also increasing the space in the back that Baker uses for production.
“We hope it will be a little more upscale,” he said. “We’re the same old people, but we’re trying to make it better.”
Baker said he’s toying with ideas like a weekly beer tasting and having acoustic music during the Friday wine tastings.
The shop’s new address will be 751-F N.C. 16 N. The phone number, 704-766-1030, will stay the same.
