The N.C. Department of Transportation is launching an effort to guide transportation planning for the next 30 years and needs input from the public.

The state department is updating its 2040 Plan, a long-range transportation plan that will help determine North Carolina’s transportation needs in 2040 and how to best meet them. In addition to highways, the plan will address aviation, ferries, rail, bicycles, pedestrian facilities and public transportation.
