Michael V. Daugherty

STANLEY – Michael Vane Daugherty, 46, of Stanley, died May 18, 2011.
Born Nov. 5, 1964, in Texas, Mr. Daugherty was a son of Daniel F. Daugherty and the late Elizabeth Bolton Daugherty.

He was service manager at Rush International Trucking Company.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife, Cathy; children Lillian, Joseph and Brandon; stepmother, Angie Daugherty; brothers Shannon, Shawn and Ian Daugherty.
A memorial service was held Saturday, May 21, at Trinity United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Wade Ogle. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, was in charge.

Lawrence D. Keener

LINCOLNTON – Lawrence David Keener, 80, of 506 Rhyne St., died Sunday, May 22, 2011.

Born Jan. 30, 1931, in Lincoln County, Mr. Keener was a son of the late Lawrence F. and Helen Eurey Keener.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a sheet metal mechanic with W.H. Rogers Sheet Metal in Paw Creek.

His wife, Nellie Faye Kiser Keener, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters Pamela and Cynthia Keener, both of the home, and Sherry Hawkins and Martha Lidman, both of Lincolnton; brothers Marvin Keener, Iron Station, and Milton Keener, Lincolnton; sisters Geraldine Crowe, Lincolnton, and Yvonne Leatherman, Vale; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, May 25, at Rhyne Heights United Methodist Church, conducted by the Revs. Kathy McAbee and Doug Pryor, with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Warlick Funeral Home was in charge.

Angela D. Cook

LINCOLNTON – Angela Diane Dameron “Angie” Cook, 41, of Better Brook Lane, died Sunday, May 22, 2011.

Born June 17, 1969, in Lincoln County, Mrs. Cook was a daughter of Lucy Dameron, of Lincolnton, and the late Larry Vance Dameron.

She worked as a cook at Zipper’s.

Her husband, Conway Todd Cook, also died Sunday, May 22.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her brother, Larry Scott Dameron, Lincolnton; sister, Rita Gates, Lincolnton; sons Eric Sparks, Catawba, and Tyler Cook, Lincolnton; stepson, Storm Cook, of the home; and daughter, Jessalyn Cook, Lincolnton.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 25, at Open Word Holiness Church, Newton, conducted by the Rev. Matthew Sparks. Warlick Funeral Home was in charge.

Louise C. Rudisill

LINCOLNTON – Louise Childers Rudisill, 87, 502 S. Laurel St., died Tuesday, May 24, 2011.

Born Oct. 31, 1923, in Lincoln County, Mrs. Rudisill was the daughter of the late Aaron and Jennie Nelson Childers.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Marcus J. Rudisill; son Gary Marcus Rudisill; and daughter Linda Ann Goins preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons Darrell Rudisill, Lincolnton, and Michael Rudisill, Granite Falls; daughters Rebecca Lineberger and husband, Ralph, Lincolnton, Phyllis Yarbrough, Lincolnton, Sandra White and husband, Eddie, Granite Falls, Elaine Black, Vale, and Gail Sain, Lincolnton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Thursday, May 26, at Warlick Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. David Irish, with burial at Hollybrook Cemetery.

Jimmie G. Graves

LINCOLNTON – Jimmie Gorman Graves, 72, 727 N. Oak St., died on Tuesday, May 24, 2011.

Born Oct. 18, 1938, in Hobart, Okla., Mr. Graves was a son of the late James Wheeler and Berta Glenna Gorman Graves. He was a pastor and also served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Bette Jean Graves; son, James Yale Graves, Wind Gap, Pa.; daughter, Kimberly Colleen Graves, Collegedale, Tenn.; brother, Tom Graves, Alabama; sister, Glenna Jane Larner, Carrolton, Texas; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Lincolnton Seventh-Day Adventist Church, conducted by Pastor Manny Vela. The family will receive friends following the service. Warlick Funeral Home is in charge.
